I’m very excited to announce today the launch of our new company, Velostrata. This is our third and arguably our most exciting start up to date. I write “our” because I’m fortunate to have been working together with my co-founder, Ady Degany and 4 other members of the founding team for well over a decade, since the early days of Actona, then Cisco (post Actona acquisition), Wanova and VMware (post Wanova acquisition). I’m honored to be joined by such a top-notch talented team that is focused on developing best of breed products based on innovative technology.
So what did we develop ?
In a nutshell, Velostrata delivers the first of a kind real-time hybrid cloud solution, which enables enterprise customers to stream production workloads in minutes (vs. weeks or months) to the public cloud, while keeping the storage safely on-premises, and providing a highly optimized end-to-end channel that connects the compute workloads in the cloud with the storage on-premises. By decoupling compute from storage without sacrificing performance, we have removed key barriers that customers have had with respect to adopting public cloud for production workloads, including the need to migrate storage permanently to the cloud, the concern of being locked-in to a cloud vendor, and the complexity of migrating and managing workloads to the cloud. With those barriers removed, Velostrata paves the way for enterprises to finally adopt the hybrid cloud for production workloads !
